If you come from a different cultural background, it is important that you understand and study some of the meanings of the words and cultural ways that people are used to in the USA.

For example, you need to realize that if an American girl refuses to go out with you, that doesn’t mean you can’t still be friends. Also, if for some reason you are the person that needs to cancel a date, then you should do this well in advance to try and make sure that you are not ruining somebody else’s evening. Don’t be shy.
