Parvez Sharma's Jihad for Love marks one of the very first documentaries to examine the occasional overlaps between Islam and homosexuality. Evincing great sensitivity to both the subject matter and the interviewees, Sharma hones in on a transcontinental group of homosexual individuals who attempt to reconcile their faith in the Koran (where, according to many interpretations, same-sex relations are condemned) with their non-heterosexual identities. Hailing from countries as diverse as France, South Africa,... [

INDIANAPOLIS — With time running short and Buddy Lazier needing a burst of speed, he asked his old friends for some help Sunday.
His crew adjusted the car, Dan Wheldon gave him a pep talk and then Lazier took his No. 91 car back onto the track and bumped his way into the 33-car starting grid for the Indianapolis 500.
To the 1996 Indy winner, it was a harrowing, emotional day.
“They made some quick calculations and said ‘Well, if we’re going to make it, this is what we have to do,”‘ Lazier said

It’s difficult trying to compare sectional results with what might happen in a girls track and field regional. It’s that way with Tuesday’s regional at West Lafayette, which will include athletes from sectionals which were held at Noblesville, West Lafayette, Benton Central and South Putnam.
Sectional facilities differ from site to site. Weather conditions sometimes are very different. Competition is a factor.
Westfield had lots of competition when the Lady Shamrocks scored 144.5 points and won the Noblesville Sectional. Southeastern was a strong second with 141.
Brownsburg won the South Putnam Sectional with 104.5. Avon was second

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — A.J. Foyt IV’s car caught fire and crashed hard against the wall Sunday during practice for the Indianapolis 500. He had a slight burn to the back of his neck but was otherwise unhurt.
The grandson of four-time Indy winner A.J. Foyt qualified for the May 25 race Sunday, but during a later practice session his fuel tank cover came off and the spraying fuel was ignited from the heat of the engine.
