Investor's Business Daily - A new camera system that will allow video game enthusiasts to use their bodies as virtual game controllers is slated to go on sale by year's end. The ZCam, made by the firm 3DV Systems, allows users to wave their hands to play virtual drums or to throw actual punches to strike a character in a video game. The system projects near-infrared light that is then reflected by the user and detected by the ZCam. Nintendo's Wii console and Activision's "Guitar Hero" game have spurred a number of companies to explore new ways to allow players to interact with games.

Nintendo Launches WiiWare for Game Downloads (NewsFactor)

NewsFactor - Building on the success of its Wii game console, Nintendo has launched WiiWare, a software service for games. Wii owners who have their machines hooked up to an Internet connection will be able to download games from both large developers and small shops. Sign causes power outage for 30,000 in Noblesville

More than 30,000 customers in Noblesville found themselves out of power and powerless for a short time Tuesday, after a metal sign came loose and became tangled in electrical lines. Ironically, the sign belonged to Duke Energy. Duke spokeswoman Angeline Protogere said it happened around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday between substations located at Marilyn and Olio roads on the city’s east side. “It may have come loose during the recent storm we had,” she said.

Hoosier Crossroads boys’ Golf Meet: ’Rocks lead county teams in HCC meet

On a tough day for Hamilton County boys’ golf teams, Westfield produced the best score of the bunch with a fifth-place round of 315 Monday in the Hoosier Crossroads Conference meet at Coyote Crossing in Lafayette. The Shamrocks, led by a 7-over-par score of 77 from senior Colin Gray, finished only six shots out of second place. No. 1 ranked Avon coasted to the team title with a 291. Simmons to drive 2nd Foyt car at Indy

Indiana University Basketball: IU responds to allegations of NCAA recruiting violations

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Indiana University told the NCAA on Monday that its own self-imposed penalties should be enough to keep the organization from having to punish the school for improper phone calls made by Kelvin Sampson before he resigned as basketball coach.
