Heights finishes strong in win

Huskies score 53 second-half points At some point during halftime, the Hamilton Heights boys basketball team switched from first gear to overdrive. The result was 13 points in less than three minutes, which is how the Huskies opened the second half. From there, Heights held on to beat New Palestine 76-62 in the semifinals of Class 3A Sectional 29 at Shelbyville Friday.

City says tax breaks back business boon

1.7 million square feet in abated property has brought $118 million to Noblesville Chuck Goodrich is not shy when he talks about the role the six-year tax abatement offered by Noblesville officials played in his electrical company’s moving its operational center to the city. “I think it was the difference in where we put our office,” said Goodrich, the vice-president of Gaylor Incorporated’s Indianapolis division. “I think it’s hugely important. Heights student admits taking gun to school

A 13-year-old Hamilton Heights Middle School student has admitted bringing a handgun to school Tuesday. Now, police want to know where it is. “We have not been able to recover the handgun at this point,” said Hamilton County Sheriff Doug Carter. Heights middle school student accused of taking gun to school

The Noblesville Daily Times has learned a seventh-grader at Hamilton Heights Middle School has been arrested and charged with bringing a firearm into school. Hamilton County Sheriff Doug Carter said the student brought the weapon onto a school bus before bringing it into the school building. The juvenile is being held at the Hamilton County Juvenile Services Center. According to school officials, the incident happened Tuesday.
